The Apostles Lutheran Preschool: Registration for the preschool 2008-2009 school year opened on February 15th for members of Apostles and March 1st to the public. If your child will be 4 prior to September 1, 2008, he/she will qualify for our VPK program financed by the State of Florida. There is no tuition for this program. (There will be a $75.00 registration fee to insure your child's place. In the Fall, the $75.00 registration fee will be absorbed into the Activity Fee.) However, your child must attend 5 days a week for the entire school year to remain in this program. Classes are from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. (Please note time change.) A limited enrollment is also available for children who will be 3 prior to September 1. 2008. These children will attend on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Tuition is $150.00 per month for 3 yr. old students.
$12.00/day; $30.00 for any 3 days/week; $50.00/week
Our school offers a variety of activities based on a developmental approach. Each child is exposed to skills at their personal level of success and taken to higher levels through various tactile, aural, and physical activities. We collect Campbell’s Soup labels! Just save the label and place in the preschool mailbox. We receive points which can be applied towards purchasing materials for the classroom. |

Apostles has had a Christian-based preschool education program for fifteen years, and it does its job so well that no one ever hears about it. Depending upon enrollment, the preschool has a staff of a director, two or three teachers, and a teacher’s aide. At full enrollment, that yields a student teacher ratio of less than seven to one. This is a better ratio than most preschools achieve. The curriculum consists of “developmentally appropriate practices” which is similar to the Montessori approach. Our Preschool Director, Sandra Sornson, is known as a fellow member of Apostles . She has spent her entire professional career in preschools and specializes in speech and language therapy. We are delighted to have Sandy at our preschool and look forward to many more successful years. The preschool operates five mornings per week. It offers a three-day program for three year olds and a five-day program for four year-olds. This year we are adding an After-School Care Program. Chapel with the pastor is held once per week. Friends, this is a quality program which has enjoyed great success. The preschool is fully registered and there’s a waiting list. The development of your child’s social, interactive, and language skills will be marked. And for those of you that aren’t friends with any toddlers, you can be proud that your church supports such a fine institution that can have a tremendously positive impact on the community. |
